International tourism is an engine of the global economy, both in terms of its size and its growth potential. However, the travel restrictions limited the potential of them internationally. On the opposite side, it appears that the liberalization in travel generates significant increases in average spending of tourists and the generation of jobs.

A Joint OECD /G20 GPFI Special Event on SME Finance
Yves Leterme zit vergadering voor om de toegang tot investeringskapitaal voor zelfstandige ondernemers en KMO’s te verbeteren.
Op donderdag 19 april op de OESO in Parijs zat Yves Leterme een internationale ontmoeting voor. Er werden maatregelen besproken om de toegang tot investeringskapitaal voor zelfstandige ondernemers en KMO’s te verbeteren. Uit cijfers blijkt dat de zogenaamde kredietschaarste vooral kleinere bedrijven treft en date en verbetering van hun investeringsmogelijkheden de economische herleving veel beter kan verzekeren.

OESO-topman Leterme pleit voor uitgevlakte index

Leterme deed zijn uitspraken tijdens een lunch georganiseerd door de Van Lanschot-bank voor een select gezelschap van haar beste klanten. Het kader - het 'Schoonverdiep' van het Antwerpse stadhuis- was minstens even exclusief. Voor Leterme was het overigens slechts een korte tussenstop. Hij kwam rechtstreeks uit de VS en reisde daarna meteen door naar Parijs, waar de OESO gevestigd is. Leterme is er als adjunct-secretaris-generaal bevoegd voor de sociale thema's, zoals arbeidsmarkt, sociale bescherming en onderwijs.
